Welcome to Camp Tuhsmeheta 2012!!!

We hope you’re excited about coming to Camp Tuhsmeheta this summer!  We have lots of great activities planned for you.  But before you start dreaming about all the cool stuff we’re going to be doing at Camp T in the SUMMER of 2012, we have some great events planned for the WINTER and SPRING!

Three events are planned before summer begins – Snow Much Fun Feb 17-19 which includes winter sports and ecology,  Spring Explorations March 23-25 with Native American cultural experiences and crafts, and Gardening and Spring Birding Weekend when we put in the garden and listen for the earth waking up May 4-6, 2012!

Snow Much Fun!!!
Family Winter Event

February 17-19 at Camp Tuhsmeheta, Greenville MI
Featuring Guest Naturalist Maureen Stine and Bird Call Expert Donna Posont

Learn: about winter birds, identifying trees by their bark and how animals survive tough winter conditions

Play: go snow shoeing around Flanigan Lake to check out the beaver activity and do crazy fun stuff in the snow!

Make: bird feeders and a Barred Owl call

Have Fun: meet new friends – catch up with old friends and have a great time as always at Camp T!

Cost: $25 per person, $75 for a family of 4, $20 for each extra person – feel free to bring a friend!  Scholarships available for qualifying families

9:30 a.m. Tree Identification talk – Maureen Stine from Naturologist.com
10a.m. Walk for tree identification – Maureen Stine
11a.m. Winter birding and Making bird feeders – Donna Posont
12:30 Lunch
1:30 . Animal tracking with Donna and Maureen
3p.m. Warm up with hot chocolate and snack
3:30 Craft of constructing a Barred owl caller Joanne Pilarski
4:30p.m. Sledding and snow animal construction with snow permitting
6p.m. Dinner
7p.m. Owl investigation with Maureen
8p.m. Owl Prowl with Donna
9p.m. Snacks and Games Singing with Geri Taeckens
10p.m. Return to cabins

9a.m. Breakfast

11a.m. Animal tracking outside with everyone
12:30 Lunch
1:30p.m. Pack up, clean up and departure
