Camp Tuhsmeheta is a summer camp for children and young adults who are blind or visually impaired located in West Michigan, seven miles west of Greenville. Camp T is an amazing place for kids to learn, grow and thrive; however it is so much more! It is an outdoor educational facility where adventure hides around every tree. It is a place where those who are blind or visually impaired can safely participate in fun, traditional camping activities that will help prepare them for a life of independence and success. It is a place full of endless possibilities for learning experiences that will help them improve their recreational, leisure and social skills. Camp T is a place where kids gain confidence while working together with their peers, it is a place where kids are encouraged by teen mentors and successful blind adults. Most of all it is a place where kids can be kids, a place where they can leave the label of blindness behind and go beyond it to discover the endless possibilities in their lives.
As a service to it's users, the Michigan Department of Education offers the use of Camp Tuhsmeheta to Opportunities Unlimited for the Blind. This does not constitute endorsement or support of the information or services offered by OUB or any other organization, group or individual providing services or programs to Camp Tuhsmeheta. Furthermore, neither the Michigan Department of Education nor any of it's employees or contractors assumes any legal liability or responsibility for programs and services offered at Tuhsmeheta by any group, organization or individual.
